A Darth Revan costume is a black hooded cape, a weathered mask, rigid armour, a black split skirt and a red saber [1]. Darth Maul is horns, red and black face paint, layered black robes and a double-bladed saber [2][3]. Kit Fisto is a green Nautolan headpiece, Jedi layers and a green saber [4][5]. Parts lists and saber advice follow.
All three share a base of black or brown layers, matched boots and a hilt clipped to the belt. For the Jedi layers and club rules, see the Jedi costume guide and the lightsaber cosplay costume guide.

Darth Revan costume
Revan comes from the 2003 game Knights of the Old Republic and sits in the Legends continuity, not canon [6][7]. Current canon mentions Revan once: a 2019 reference book names a Sith Eternal legion after him [7]. The 501st Legion still keeps a reference page for the KOTOR version of the character [1].
The game lets the player customise the hero Revan, while the masked Sith design is a separate look [6]. Revan cosplay usually means that masked Darth Revan outfit.
Darth Revan armor and parts
The 501st Legion Costume Reference Library for KOTOR Revan lists the pieces below. It is a visual guide for judges, not a construction manual [1].
| Part | What the reference describes [1] |
|---|---|
| Hood and cape | Heavy black fabric, hood covers the face, knife pleats on the cape |
| Mask | Dark grey and rust red, heavily weathered, dark eye lens, two chin prongs |
| Balaclava and shirt | Black, form-fitting, high collar, horizontal piping on the shirt |
| Cuirass and back armour | Rigid, ridged pattern, bronze, copper or antique gold sheen |
| Vambraces and hand plates | Rigid, one seamless piece per forearm, ridged hand plates |
| Gloves | Plain black leather or fabric, tucked under the vambraces |
| Belt and drapes | Belt with an O-ring, black sash, deep red vertical drape |
| Skirt and trousers | Black split skirt to the ankle over plain black trousers |
| Boots | Black or medium to dark grey, low heel, no visible laces |
The reference says some pieces will not be accepted, including a flat chin SWTOR-style mask, hakama pants, a “Cosplay Sky” Revan costume and SWTOR-style hilts [1]. That makes the armour and mask the pieces to buy from a maker who works to this reference.
Revan saber
The reference allows one red-bladed saber for the first game, and two sabers (one red, one purple) for the second [1]. In the games the player picks the saber build, so there is no single canon hilt [11]. For a red single blade, read red lightsaber, and for the purple, see purple lightsaber.
Where to buy a Revan costume
One retailer lists a licensed Darth Revan costume (item JWC5549) at $124.99 for a size Large, as of November 2026. It includes a robe, padded chest armour, hip sash, cape, gauntlets and gloves. The helmet and boots are not part of the set [10]. A set like that is a party costume, not a club-approved build [1].
Darth Maul costume

Maul is canon. He first appears in The Phantom Menace in 1999 and returns in The Clone Wars, Rebels and Solo [8]. The Databank lists his red double-bladed saber and Zabrak species from Dathomir [3].
His costume changed during design. A large muscle suit became a smaller set of Sith robes with pleats to allow an acrobatic duel [8][12].
Maul makeup and horns
Darth Maul cosplay needs the most makeup of the three. The 501st reference for the Phantom Menace version asks for ten bone-toned horns, a shaved or capped head and matte red and black paint. Ears, eye areas and the neck are black, with a red lip and a red nose bridge with a black centre pattern [2]. Wookieepedia describes red skin with black tattoos [12].
Maul robes and boots
The 501st reference lists these layers [2]:
- A black linen-type tunic with a V neck, ending just above the knees.
- A lightweight black Sith robe over the tunic.
- A black tabard secured by the belt.
- A two-piece black belt with four riveted strips.
- Matte black gauntlet gloves to mid-forearm.
- Baggy black trousers.
- Mid-calf black boots with no visible logos.
The Visual Encyclopedia, as summarised on Wookieepedia, describes loose trousers for high kicks, an undertunic, heavy-action boots and protective gloves under a black cloak [12].
Maul saber
The reference shows a dual-bladed saber in machined aluminium with four red knobs and a Covertec-style clip on the right hip [2]. Carrying a double-bladed prop is harder at an event, so read double-bladed lightsaber and red lightsaber before you buy. San Diego Comic-Con inspects every prop and bans functional or sharp-edged ones [13].
Kit Fisto costume

Kit Fisto is a Nautolan Jedi Master from Glee Anselm. He appears in Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith and The Clone Wars, and dies during the attempt to arrest Palpatine [4]. His appearance is green skin, large black eyes and tentacle-like tresses, at 1.96 metres tall [14]. Zachariah Jensen played him in the second film and Ben Cooke in the third [9].
Kit Fisto headpiece and robes
Kit Fisto cosplay comes down to the headpiece, which is the hard part. Wookieepedia notes that the design began as a Sith concept, then became a Jedi with green skin, and a Jedi tunic completed the look [14]. One collectible-figure review notes the Attack of the Clones version has four tentacles and the Revenge of the Sith version has two, so choose the film first [15].
The Jedi layers use the same earth-tone rules as the Jedi costume guide [16]. A collectible figure of the character is dressed in a dark brown robe, a brown robe with belt and a dark brown tunic [15]. A Rebel Legion page for the character lists pouches modelled after Anakin’s pouches, a hero hilt and a correct-colour blade [16].
No mainstream boxed licensed Kit Fisto costume appeared in the retail search results checked for this page, so treat it as a custom build (unverified for all markets). Makers sell Nautolan masks and headpieces; check photos and a refund policy before paying.
Kit Fisto saber
His saber is single-bladed and green [5]. See green lightsaber for the other green-bladed characters and which hilt styles suit a hip clip. Jedi blades are mostly blue and green [17].
Which costume to build
Use this path:
- You want the least makeup and the easiest first costume: Revan, because a mask and hood cover your face.
- You want a strong silhouette in photos and are happy with face paint: Maul.
- You already have Jedi robes: Kit Fisto, because the clothes match and only the headpiece is new.
- You want a club approval: Revan or Maul for the 501st, since it accepts villains only [18], and Kit Fisto for the Rebel Legion [16].
- You are buying for a child: choose a costume with a mask over face paint, and see best lightsaber for kids.
For the sabers themselves, see best lightsaber, and lightsaber colors for the colour overview.

Double-Bladed Lightsaber: Maul's Saber and Real Staff Versions
A double-bladed lightsaber has an emitter at each end of one hilt. Darth Maul brought it to the screen in 1999. Real versions exist as pre-made staffs, listed from $160 to $295 on one vendor's page as of November 2026.
Green Lightsaber: Who Has One, What It Means and How to Buy
Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, Kit Fisto, Luminara Unduli and Luke Skywalker carry green lightsabers in canon. Luke's blade started blue and became green for visibility. In Legends, green is tied to the Jedi Consular role. Canon has no color code, so green means whatever the crystal and its owner made of it.
Red Lightsaber: Who Carries One, What It Means and How to Get One
A red lightsaber means a kyber crystal that was bled, forced to turn red by pain and anger on the dark side. Sith, Inquisitors and Kylo Ren carry red blades in canon. Legends used synthetic red crystals instead. Red is a sign of a crystal's history, not a verdict on its owner.
